Raíces, Dignifying Lives, A.C.
Raíces Dignifying Lives A.C. is a civil association committed to family strengthening and human development in vulnerable communities through participatory actions.
This is achieved through family participation to strengthen emotional bonds, joint work, and self-management to improve nutrition, housing, health, self-employment, and family economy, aiming to enhance their dignity and quality of life.
- Since 1997, we have provided assistance in the northern and southern areas of the city.
- In 2016, we collaborated with the SMARTD association from Durango, as an extension in Chihuahua.
- In 2022, we participated in the Catholic Leaders Seminar.
- In 2023, we were formally established as a civil association: Raíces Dignifying Lives A.C.
- In 2024, we began strategic planning to work comprehensively — and not just through assistance — with vulnerable families.
- This process has been strengthened with the support of the Center for Civil Society Strengthening.
- By achieving authorized Donor Association status, we enhance our ability to secure support and expand the impact of our actions for the benefit of vulnerable communities.

Our History
Our founder, after a cancer diagnosis, began a mission to help others. Alongside her family, she brought food to hospitals and supported vulnerable communities in Chihuahua, working tirelessly to improve the lives of those facing similar challenges.
1997
We bring love in every delivery: burritos, sweet bread, and coffee to hospitals in Chihuahua.
2011
SMARTD A.C. Work was done under the acronym of an association created in Durango with an extension in Chihuahua.
2016
During the pandemic, support continued for those in greatest need, along with various assistance activities.
2020
The project was presented to leaders of international organizations and local entrepreneurs, who connected us with CFOSC, who supported us.
2022
Formal establishment as A.C. Training through various courses and workshops at CFOSC.

Social Work
With the support of the School of Social Work, we conducted a census and assessment of the families living in the Ladrilleros Sur community to understand their needs and living conditions up close and provide support that truly matches what they need and want.
Food Delivery in Hospitals
Delivery of burritos, sweet bread, coffee, and water
Food Basket Delivery
The delivery of food baskets, which we initially provided as an organization, is now done in collaboration with Cáritas. This allows us to expand support to more families in vulnerable situations. We also provide support to pregnant women through the delivery of layettes, baby items, food baskets for nursing mothers, strollers, bathtubs, diapers, and other basic supplies.
Support with DIF
We secured support with DIF and conducted a health campaign in collaboration with IMPAS and MED CHIHUAHUA. In the first phase, the Raíces team ensured each person had the necessary documentation to register with the Chihuahua Medical Service. Then, a second session was held with computers to print missing documents and complete the registrations. It was a successful campaign that enabled many families to access quality medical services for the first time.
